The 141-year-old General Store in Cumnock has recently been bought by the Community of Cumnock.

The initiative of the community buying the local General Store stemmed from The Long White Lunch community group, another committee within Cumnock that is focused on raising funds towards improving the sustainability of the Cumnock Community by hosting a long lavish lunch for 500 guests wearing white.

As of the 23rd of October 2023, the 196 Founding Members officially became the 6th owners of the General Store! The Store is currently open and running at small capacity while larger renovations begin.
